Bone Broth Recipe for Hormonal Balance

Why It’s Good for Women

Bone broth is rich in:

  • Collagen & Gelatin: Support skin elasticity, gut lining repair, and joint health.
  • Glycine & Proline: Amino acids that aid in hormone production and liver detox (especially helpful for estrogen balance).
  • Minerals: Magnesium, calcium, and potassium support adrenal health and reduce cortisol (stress hormone).
  • Gut Health: A healthy gut improves nutrient absorption and hormonal regulation, especially important during perimenopause and menopause.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg organic beef marrow bones or chicken carcass (can include chicken feet for extra collagen)
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (helps extract minerals from bones)
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 piece of ginger (optional, for anti-inflammatory boost)
  • Fresh herbs: parsley, rosemary, thyme
  • Sea salt & black pepper to taste
  • 3–4 liters of filtered water

Instructions

  1. Roast the bones (optional): Place bones in oven at 180°C for 20–30 minutes to enhance flavor.
  2. Combine ingredients in a large pot or slow cooker.
  3. Simmer gently for 12–24 hours (the longer, the richer).
  4. Strain the broth and discard solids.
  5. Store in glass jars or freeze in cubes.

How to Use

  • Sip warm in the morning or evening.
  • Use as a base for soups, stews, or grains.
  • Add adaptogens or medicinal herbs for extra hormonal support.
